Ryan & Stacie: Happy Birthday, Happy Wedding, Happy Dance

What a great way to cap off the fall wedding season...a beautiful couple, beautiful Indian summer weather, and beautiful settings all day long. Wow. And I finally got a groom who wanted to do getting ready shots! We get to do bridal getting ready shots all the time, but the groom almost always gets left out cuz they typical show up dressed and ready. This time, while Stacie was in Krystal's capable hands and lens, I got to hang out with Ryan and tell the "groomal" story. :) (And the day before the wedding was Ryan's birthday, so he had a pretty good weekend.) Then it was off to the church in Johnsburg down in the lake country area of Illinois. It was a gorgeous old Catholic church, and an emotional ceremony. From there we headed out to the reception at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake, Illinois. We did one of my Walkabouts around the bucolic grounds and captured a ton of wonderful images.

One hot October wedding...Joe and Katlyn

After a scorching hot summer engagement session, we all were looking forward to a beautifully mild October wedding day. Um, well, it was 82. The only thing hotter was the portfolio's worth of smokin' images from Joe & Katlyn's wedding day. From getting ready at Katlyn's house, to Olin Park, to some urban walkabout pics, to some killer shots at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon, top to bottom this was one hot wedding.

Fun in the Arboretum with Amy & Nick

In case you were wondering, "yes", I am in fact available to photograph engagement sessions on an a la carte basis. Amy and Nick saw my engagement session work for my wedding clients, loved what they saw, and booked me to photograph an engagement session for them. We decided to shoot in the Arboretum in Madison to incorporate some of the beautiful fall color we've had lately.

Rick & Dana: Thrillin'

Rick and Dana are a wedding photographer's dream. Fun, funky, edgy, sassy...they gave it all and more. And, not only did they give me more than an hour to do one of my Walkabouts with just the two of them, they also give us our own "photographer's table" at the reception. How cool is that? Pretty cool...but not as cool as the images they allowed me to create. They're smokin'.
